Change of the authentication method for logging into the Union Registry
Friday, 18. September, 2020
As of 21 September 2020 new authentication method by means of EU Login Mobile application and QR code will be operational. This authentication method will within a year replace mobile phone number and SMS code currently used for logging into the Union Registry and approval of transactions.
What needs to be done?
For activation of new authentication method it is necessary to install EU Login Mobile application into the mobile device and then add this device to the EU Login authentication service. Step by step guidance can be found in point 3 of EU Login User Manual ("Používateľský manuál EU Login" is available in Documents in Slovak language only).
After successful addition of mobile device, users will log into the Union Registry by choosing EU Login App + QR code as authentication method. Users will scan the QR code from the EU Login screen in the mobile application EU Login Mobile and type in the generated code. Mobile application works offline, it is not necessary to be actively connected to the internet for authentication.
Users are reminded that if they log in to the Union Registry at least once using the EU Login Mobile application and QR code, the option to log in via mobile phone number and SMS code will be automatically deactivated for them.
New authentication method is safer and more reliable than using SMS codes, so we recommend that users do not delay its activation.
